2009 Famil Itinerary
Day One
Christchurch – Mount Cook – Queenstown
This day we are traveling with Great Sights via Mount Cook, enjoying the hospitality of The Hermitage Hotel for lunch and also complimentary entrance into the Sir Edmund Hillary Museum.
We’re staying at the Novotel Hotel while in Queenstown, a fabulous lake front hotel.
Tonight we’re going up the Skyline Gondola to enjoy the magnificent views of Queenstown at night, and their buffet dinner.
Day Two
Milford Sound Day Tour
Today we are traveling from Queenstown to Milford Sound with Great Sights. Once we arrive into Milford we’ll transfer onto the Red Boat Scenic Cruises.
Red Boat are also very generously putting on lunch for us this day too.
Day Three
Activities in and around Queenstown
Today there are some awesome activities for you to choose from to do, including Canyon Swing and Kawarau Jet and the TSS Earnslaw with Walter Peak Farm tour.
Day Four
Queenstown to Franz Josef
We travel from Queenstown to Franz Josef this day with Newmans.
We’re staying at the Scenic Circle Hotel and when we arrive there we’ll be meet by Eco Tours West Coast to go and enjoy a walk to the face of the Glacier.
Day Five
Franz Josef to Nelson
Not going to lie, today is a BIG day. But along the way the group will change as people come on and off the TranzAlpine Train, and we also get to see the Pancake Rocks and travel along one of the top ten drives as voted by Lonely Planet.
Once in Nelson we are staying at the Trailways Motor Inn.
Day Six
Day in Nelson
Today we have a couple of activity options for around the Abel Tasman National Park, including kayaking and walking, in and around the golden sand beaches.
Tonight we have a group dinner at The Tides Restaurant to celebrate!
Day Seven
Nelson to Christchurch
Home again, home again, jiggidy jigg!
